Sharn Barbarin, MHA, FACHE
Chief Executive Officer
LaSharndra “Sharn” Barbarin is Chief Executive Officer at Medical City Lewisville.
Sharn previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Medical City Arlington from 2011 until her appointment as CEO at Lewisville in July 2015. Under her leadership, Medical City Arlington expanded services and achieved outstanding patient and physician satisfaction scores.
Sharn began her career with HCA as an administrative fellow at Medical City Las Colinas and was quickly promoted to Chief Operating Officer at the Medical City McKinney where she served nine years before her promotion to COO at Medical City Arlington.
Sharn is a graduate of Louisiana State University and holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Tulane University. She has been named an Outstanding Alumni by Tulane University’s School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, honored as a Top 25 Women in Business by McKinney Living, and as a Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Nominee by the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council.
Josh Kemph, MHA, ACHE
Chief Operations Officer
Josh Kemph is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Medical City Lewisville.
Josh most recently served as the associate Chief Operating Officer at HCA Healthcare’s HealthONE Swedish Medical Center in Colorado until his appointment as COO at Lewisville in May 2016. During his tenure at Swedish Medical Center, Josh was instrumental in executing strategies to drive product line development in the key specialty service lines of orthopedics and oncology rehabilitation.
Josh began his career with HCA Healthcare in 2009, and he served at two HCA facilities in Nashville as well as HCA’s corporate office before his position in Colorado.
Josh received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2008 and a Master of Healthcare Administration in 2010, both from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Brandy Farrer, MSN, RN, NEA-BC
Chief Nursing Officer
Brandy Farrer is the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Medical City Lewisville. Brandy joined Medical City Lewisville in January 2009 and served as the Assistant Vice President of Acute and Critical Care Services prior to her appointment as CNO.
Brandy has more than 17 years of nursing experience, and she has spent the last 10 years serving in progressive leadership positions within Medical City Healthcare. Brandy has clinical nursing experience in the areas of emergency medicine, critical care, cardiac cath lab, and recovery room. While at Medical City Lewisville, Brandy has played an integral role in increasing critical care volume through the pursuit of stroke and chest pain accreditations, as well as the development and expansion of cardiothoracic services, including open heart surgery and interventional cardiac cath lab services. Additionally, she has been instrumental in increasing the employee engagement scores in all of the Acute and Critical Care areas, achieving recognition for being in HCA Healthcare’s top 10 percent.
Brandy received an associate’s degree in nursing from Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from North Georgia College, and a master’s degree in nursing from Walden University. She is board certified in Executive Administration by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and is an active member of the North Texas Organization of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She was also selected as one of the “Dallas-Fort Worth Great One Hundred Nurses” in 2014.
Brandy enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her teenage son.
Renee Sturgeon, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Renee Sturgeon is the Chief Financial Officer at Medical City Lewisville.
Renee previously served as the Vice President of Finance for Medical City Dallas and Medical City Children’s Hospital since 2016. As CFO of Medical City Lewisville, Renee has direct reporting responsibility for all financial departments including finance, patient access, health information management, case management, revenue integrity, IT&S, and supply chain. She also has oversight of the hospitalist program and inpatient rehab.
Renee began her career at HCA in 1995 as a financial analyst for the Ambulatory Surgery Group. She joined Medical City Plano in 2001 where she served in progressive leadership roles before advancing to Controller and Vice President of Finance roles at Medical City Dallas. As VP of Finance, she played a critical role in supporting the 797-bed flagship facility’s expense management, service line development and its unprecedented financial outperformance. She was instrumental in achieving capital approval for several development and expansion projects, including the Medical City Dallas Women’s Hospital. Throughout her career, Renee has displayed a record of proven results with financial, operational and strategic initiatives.
Renee earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting from The University of Texas at Dallas and is a certified public accountant.
Vice President of Quality
Sue Cobb is the Vice President Quality at Medical City Lewisville. Sue has been with Medical City Lewisville for more than 28 years.
Sue received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Baylor University and her Master of Business Administration degree from Texas Woman's University. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and holds a national certification in nursing administration.
Sue is married to Jerry, with whom she shares four sons, three daughters-in-law and six grandchildren. In addition to the family, Sue has two dogs and three cats. Sue’s passions include faith, family, friends, and nursing. She enjoys redecorating and music.
Vice President of Human Resources
Dara Biegert joined Medical City Lewisville in September of 2008 and serves as the Vice President of Human Resources. She oversees daily operations of the Human Resources and Employee Health departments.
Dara received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas A&M University and her Master of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix. She has more than 25 years of hospital human resources management experience. Prior to coming to the Medical City Lewisville, Dara led the human resources department for UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Gary Fullerton, MBA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, CEN, LP
Assistant Vice President of Operations
Gary Fullerton is the Assistant Vice President of Operations at Medical City Lewisville. He joined the hospital in January 2009 as the Assistant Vice President of Emergency Services and was promoted to the executive leadership team in 2015 as the Assistant Vice President of Operations.
Prior to joining Medical City Lewisville, Gary worked at Medical City Las Colinas as the Director of Emergency Services. Gary has more than 20 years of emergency services experience in progressive leadership positions. His clinical experience is in emergency services where he has been successful in achieving accreditations in Chest Pain, Stroke and Trauma, along with opening the first freestanding emergency department with an attached outpatient imaging center in North Texas: Medical City ER Flower Mound.
Gary received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Arlington and a master's degree in healthcare business administration from Texas Woman’s University. He is a licensed paramedic, a certified emergency nurse, and a certified nurse executive. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the North Texas Organization of Nurse Executives.
Gary enjoys spending time with his family and is an active member of his church.
Kyle Bryan, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CCRN
Associate Chief Nursing Officer
Reagan “Kyle” Bryan is the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) at Medical City Lewisville. Since 2009, Kyle has served in progressive leadership roles, including the role of Assistant Vice President of Acute & Critical Care Services prior to his appointment as ACNO.
Kyle has been instrumental in achieving key quality outcomes. Partnering with Medical City Lewisville's high-performing front-line nursing staff, Kyle led several departments that achieved significant reductions in catheter-associated urinary tract infections, pressure ulcers, and ventilator-associated pneumonia. Under Kyle’s direction, the Acute & Critical Care areas saw record high employee engagement scores resulting in decreased turnover and recognition for top decile performance in HCA Healthcare.
Kyle is frequently called upon by leaders throughout Medical City Healthcare for collaboration and guidance in improving employee engagement, and most notably, for increasing the patient’s perception of quality through increased HCAHPS scores. His stewardship in steadily increasing HCAHPS scores has earned Medical City Lewisville recognition as one of Medical City Healthcare's top performers in patient experience.
Kyle earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and business from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso, and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Walden University. Kyle is board certified in Executive Administration by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and he is nationally certified in Critical Care Nursing by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
He is a graduate of both the Medical City Healthcare's Emerging Leader Development Program and Medical City Lewisville’s Executive Residency Program. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the North Texas Organization of Nurse Executives.
